Two weeks ago I showcased a remarkable 3d recreation of Louis Kahn’s Esherick House made by Ludvík Koutný, and today I’m happy to publish the first part of making this project. Ludvík was very kind in taking the time and write an insightful article about the use of Mental Ray in architectural visualization based on the Esherick House rendering project.
This first part serves as an introduction and will cover the gathering of references, modeling, texture and foliage. How to model a HTC Tattoo, android phone, with 3ds Max. In this tutorial i will show you how to create an Android phone, the HTC Tattoo model, in 3ds Max and VRay. We will cover both parts, modeling and rendering. If you follow this tutorial well you should achieve an image like the one above. At bottom of tutorial you will find link to download sample of this tutorial in .max, .3ds, .obj formats. Step 1: From Create, Geometry create a Box with the Length of 10.8cm, the Width of 5.4cm and the Height of 0.35cm. After that convert the Box to Editable Poly by right clicking on the screen and selecting Convert to> Convert to Editable Poly. Step 2: In the Modify tab select the Edge selection mode and select the top 2 edges. Step 3: Now select the bottom edge and chamfer them with an amount of 2.3 and 36 Segments. Step 4: Go to Polygons selection mode, select the front polygon and Bevel it with a Height of 0.35cm an the Outline of -0.2cm.
