SWRLS - Home ::

The South Western Regional Library Service (SWRLS) is a charitable organisation, funded entirely by membership subscriptions, and exists to act as an advocate for libraries and promote cooperation between libraries across all sectors in the South West and the Channel Islands It was originally set up to coordinate inter-lending of books and other materials between libraries in the region, but it has now developed into a strategic body, membership of which offers an opportunity to influence the developing agenda for the library and information domain and the wider cultural sector, both regionally and nationally. It also aims to support members by providing CPD opportunities and, to demonstrate its commitment, has successfully applied for the CILIP Seal of Recognition which recognises high standards in the content and relevance of training courses. http://www.swrls.org.uk/Home

Welcome to the generic area of the Teaching and Learning website. Here you will find a suite of stimulating resources that can be used within your organisation. Whatever the length of an induction programme, learners often complain that it is too long because they do not enjoy sitting still and receiving more information than they can process. A good place to start thinking about these and others issues in your induction programme is the CPD activity Planning the learner experience. This is a wide-ranging activity that stimulates debate amongst colleagues. Download the cards and the supporting information within the Rethinking induction booklet and instruction leaflet .
