Collectivism. Collectivism can be divided into horizontal (or egalitarian) collectivism and vertical (or hierarchical) collectivism. Horizontal collectivism stresses collective decision-making among equal individuals, and is thus usually based on decentralization and egalitarianism. Vertical collectivism is based on hierarchical structures of power and on moral and cultural conformity, and is therefore based on centralization and hierarchy. A cooperative enterprise would be an example of horizontal collectivism, whereas a military hierarchy would be an example of vertical collectivism.[1] Typology[edit] Collectivism has been used to refer to a diverse range of political and economic positions, including nationalism, direct democracy, representative democracy and monarchy. Equality does not mean an equal amount but equal opportunity. . . Horizontal collectivists tend to favour democratic decision-making, while vertical collectivists believe in a strict chain of command.

Culture and politics[edit] Globalization of Law. Law has traditionally been the province of the nation state, whose courts and police enforce legal rules. By contrast, international law has been comparatively weak, with little effective enforcement powers. But globalization is changing the contours of law and creating new global legal institutions and norms. The International Criminal Court promises to bring to justic odious public offenders based on a worldwide criminal code, while inter-governmental cooperation increasingly brings to trial some of the most notorious international criminals. Business law is globalizing fastest of all, as nations agree to standard regulations, rules and legal practices. Introduction: The move toward a global government received a big boost this summer by the introduction of a proposal for an International Criminal Court. Over U.S. objections, the United Nations Diplomatic Conference voted 120 to 7 in favor of establishing an international criminal court to try individuals accused of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the crime of aggression. The definitions of these crimes are far broader than you would initially think. For example, the definition of crimes against humanity includes murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation or forcible transfer of populations, torture, rape, enforced prostitution, sexual slavery, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, persecution against any identifiable group, apartheid, and "other inhumane acts of a similar character.

" There is now a move to include the vague category of "environmental crimes" in those which can be tried by the international court. From the May 25, 2010 eNews issue President Obama's Commencement speech to the West Point graduates this weekend has gotten flak for its emphasis on developing a new "international order" and putting too much faith in global institutions. His speech comes on the heels of Joe Biden's comments to the European Parliament that Brussels should have the title "capital of the free world" - in opposition to Washington DC.

Despite all the controversy and bloodshed perpetuated across Planet Earth, politicians still cling with idealistic tenacity to the idea of global peace and unity. Peace and unity are great goals, of course, but the perpetual problem is that godless governments have always resorted to tyranny in their attempts to produce their philosophical utopias when troublesome human beings have refused to conform. Obama's speech did have some good stuff in it.

Many parts of the speech rang true to Americans who love their country. Related Links. Beyond Birth Control: The Population Control Agenda - Dr. Stan M. Planned population control including genocide is a difficult concept for Americans to accept. Even though the U.S. government helps finance the Red Chinese program of forced abortion, sterilization and infanticide, and helps finance the United Nations "family planning program," most people find it impossible to believe that such programs are really part of a larger plan to kill off large segments of the world's population. "How can you possibly believe that? " I am frequently asked. The answer is quite simple: I have read the writings of those who intend to depopulate large segments of the earth and I believe them. They have written of the necessity of reducing-by force if necessary-the world's population.

With the continuing tensions over Iraq apparently coming to a head, many questions arise concerning the prophetic future of this region, which on the one hand has such deep roots as the cradle of civilization and yet also has a destiny in the final Biblical scenario. There may be far more relevance to this region than is commonly recognized in most books and articles on end-time prophecy. All of us are subject to limitations imposed by the presumptions we bring to a topic, and it may be essential to step back from time to time and reestablish a fresh perspective. The only certain barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. Daniel 11 Jesus' Confidential Briefing. Topical Bible Study: The AntiChrist. Introduction: The Coming World Leader - commonly known as the Antichrist - has 33 titles in the Old Testament and 13 in the New Testament. One of these, The Prince That Shall Come, comes from Daniel 9:26-27 in which the people of the Prince that shall come would destroy the city and the sanctuary. The fulfillment occurred in history when the Roman legions under Titus Vespasian destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

This reflexive reference to the Romans in Daniel 9:26 is one of several reasons why most Bible scholars view the future Prince That Shall Come as a Roman, or European. The Bible offers many clues regarding the identity of this Man of Sin. In our previous article, we explored the possibility that while we understand that the coming world leader, whom we commonly call "the Antichrist," is predicted to come from the Roman Empire, 1 we tend to be myopic regarding the extent of this designation: we tend to equate the Roman Empire with Western Europe, ignoring the eastern leg of this empire, which outlasted the western leg by a thousand years! If we carefully examine the many references in the Old Testament, we discover a surprising number of allusions to this dominant personage as "the Assyrian. " 2 This would seem to focus on the region that we know today as Syria and Iraq. With the current world tensions over that very region, it seems quite timely to re-examine some of our perspectives regarding the potential role of that region in the climactic Biblical scenario!
