He watches a trailer and is caught off-guard when it mentions an extinct Amazonian moth that shares his unusual name. Dalio realises that the trailer is addressing him directly by broadcasting the secret of his own existence and that the actors are in fact his unacknowledged parents. Taken from reproductions in books and magazines her works take the figure as a starting point to say something deeper about contemporary topics and the nature of the human form. For Tronies: Marlene Dumas and the Old Masters, currently on show at Haus der Kunst, Munich (until 6 February), works spanning her entire career have been brought together with figure studies for works by 16th and 17th century Master painters such as Rubens, Rembrandt and Frans Hals. Known as 'tronies' - the word comes from the Netherlandish word for 'head', 'face' or 'countenance' - and only recently classified as a genre in their own right, the studies were painted from life and used as reference models for figures in historical paintings.

Les racines sont emprisonnées dans des récipients qui leur permettent de flotter tout en étant coupées de ce liquide hostile. Des coups de fusain virevoltants, des flèches à double sens, des mots griffonnés à la hâte («construit naturellement», ou «culbuto», ou encore «mer noire») parcourent la toile, donnant à cette étrange forêt déracinée des allures de ballet endiablé, emporté de manière inéluctable.
Usant du fusain sur la toile comme sur une planche de bande dessinée, Fabrice Hyber laisse ses «personnages» naturels (végétaux et paysages) se débattre dans un environnement qui leur est hostile. Mais le thème du pétrole, qui se réfère sans doute à une situation géopolitique alarmante, ne donne pas lieu à des complaintes lyriques et fatalistes. Les deux caractères du pétrole se retrouvent dans les dessins.
