Garbage Warrior Full Length. Fogo Island Inn. Michael Reynolds. As a citizen of the earth… I fully have the right… to harvest water from the sky to grow my own food in my own home to harvest energy from the sun and the wind to contain and reuse my own waste on my own land to make my shelter comfortable without the use of fossil fuels and to harvest what others throw away to construct my own home I am willing to die to defend these rights and to spread the knowledge of how to achieve them to others.

If six billion other people said this as well… we would transcend the corporations, the governments, and the federal reserve bank. We, the people, would always survive. I Dreamed I was an angel, I knew how to fly I saw fire in the canon burning red up in the sky. I saw people in the darkness, I saw people in the light. They were singing to each other and it echoed through the night. WE WILL LIVE FOREVER Read More The modern world economy produces garbage on an insane level. IT IS AMAZING FEELING TO THINK OF PASSING THE MAGNIFICENT HORSE ON TO SOMEONE… Read More Inspiration.

Nikola Basic. It’s always a thrill to come across a project so unique you don’t even know what to call it. I guess this would be a landscape architecture sonic sculpture. Or at least that’s what I’ve decided to classify it as. Whatever the name, this is one of the most achingly poetic and beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It’s the personification of nature, the song of the ocean played for human ears… Designed by architect Nikola Basic and built in Zadar, Croatia, “Sea Organ” is a set of marble steps that descend into the sea. Built inside is a series of 35 calibrated steel tubes of various lengths and tilted and various angles.

The movement of the waves pushes air through the tubes and into whistles; each whistle can create up to 7 different chords of five notes each. I almost can’t stand how beautiful this is. Basic very-deservedly won the European Prize for Urban Public Space for this sublime project. Via The Pompomist via NotCot. East and Central European Architecture Platform! The sea organ has the shape of a flight of steps leading to the sea, inducing people to change their walking pattern, to stop and come down to the sea. The sea organ won: the 2005 Bernardo Bernardi prize of the Croatian Architects’ Association; Award D!
