Ferrofluid Ferrofluid Ferrofluid on glass, with a magnet underneath. Ferrofluid has been submersed in sugar water. Sugar has been added to increase the density of the water to the point where the ferrofluid appears weightless A ferrofluid (portmanteau of ferromagnetic and fluid) is a liquid which becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field.

When the magnetic field is introduced, it becomes layered with points. The magnetic field lines align themselves along the ridges of the towers, and stand out boldly. The points continue to the top of the tower and spread out, like a fractal.

The two spiral towers stand on a large plate that hold ferrofluid. When the music starts, the magnetic field around the tower is strengthened. Morpho Towers - Two Standing Spirals
