Materialising the Internet demonstrates that returning to the physical doesn’t bring us back to our starting point.
I left Amsterdam and spent 3 hours in public transport just to see this exhibition. Here’s a very quick and partial tour of the show: Jip de Beer, Web Spaces, 2016-2017. Jip de Beer showing some of his models to the next web In his series Web Spaces, Jip de Beer literally unfolds the structure of the internet homepages and reveals their hidden hierarchies and three dimensional layers. His work maps the support structure underneath the architecture of Facebook, Google, Amazon and other famous domains. The Dataïsts, una introducción al mundo del arte Glitch. El error en el arte durante siglos fue sólo eso. Un paso, un período embrionario a través del cual el artista, como ser humano, va puliendo la obra final hasta presentarla libre de él. El error debía de esconderse, debía de quedar en lo más profundo del atelier del artista.
Esto cambió con la explosión del Glitch Art. Esta técnica rescata los errores, los fallos o los comportamientos inadecuados de las máquinas, nuevos lienzos del artista moderno, a través de las cuales se producen cuadros, textiles, vídeo o música. Por su parte, para el blog de tecnología e informática 17 Pulgadas, el Glitch no es más que un “comportamiento inesperado de algún soporte digital, hardware o software, pero que por su naturaleza no afecta a su funcionamiento normal”.
