Postgraduate training for leadership in industry Transport and the Environment Avoiding, reducing or mitigating the environmental impacts of transport, through resource and energy efficiency, pollution minimisation and ecosystem management. The Industry Doctoral Training Centre (IDTC) in Transport and the Environment is one of 44 centres for doctoral training established by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). The Engineering Doctorate (EngD) Programme offered by the IDTC builds upon the acclaimed EngD in ‘Transport Infrastructure Knowledge and Systems’ which started in 1999. Research in the IDTC focuses on the inter-relationship between 'Transport and the Environment'.
