Commonly Confused Words

That we actually have a huge list of commonly confused words that trip up both native-speakers and those whose first language isn’t English says a lot about our language. Whether you’ve got high school students prepping for university-entrance exams or ESL adults trying to get that score that proves their English is “good enough” for university admittance, you probably spend some time addressing some of those commonly confused words. These 48 task cards are the perfect supplement to your lesson! Each task card tackles a set of commonly confused words with sentence clozes. Most have embedded context clues, and some have grammar clues.

These task cards are perfect as a review activity whether students are working as individuals, in pairs, or in small groups. The sentences used are designed for upper secondary to adult students.
