Zip-up Earbuds & LauPre - StumbleUpon
I love to have my music with me everywhere I go, but I hate the tangled mess my wires become when I toss them in my bag or pocket. Last night I whipped up a fun and functional solution by adding a zipper to my earbuds. This project took me around an hour to do (perfect for catching up on some t.v. from hulu.com). The supplies are few; basic sewing supplies, a pair of headphones, and a nice long zipper.The other day, I wrote about attempting to drill through glass and I finished up the project this weekend. I think it turned out beautifully — I love the idea of bottled light! These would be pretty by a wintery window or under an entry table. I like the way the gold paint makes the bottom of the bottles look misty and glow-y, even during the daytime. I’ve got a ton of images and DIY instructions below if you’d like to try this too.
DIY: Bottles Full of Light
We're always on the lookout for new creative ideas to add to our little one's lives. We love the look of this thumb print guest book, although it was used for a wedding (and a fabulous one at that) we think the look is perfect for your next baby shower or as wall art in your nursery. A few more ideas are after the jump! We really love the idea of little individual leaves. We also think it could be a neat thing to keep from year to year for your child, letting invited attendees to birthday parties stamp their fingers to leave their mark on the day. Keep the same "tree" from year to year, just add to it as you go, alter colors if you wish, just make sure to date one or two so you know where it stops.

The Basics of Documenting A Week In Your Life
From my 2008 Week In The Life Album. Next week, from Monday through Sunday, I will be documenting a week in my life with photos + words and I invite you to play along. (You could even begin today or tomorrow if you wanted – there is no reason it has to be Monday through Sunday vs.So way way back, in June, I wrote this Studio Organization post, about starting the process of organizing my studio by cleaning out the closet full of junk. Well, it's September and...let's just say the closet is a work in progress. Some of the things that are taking up space in the closet are shirts that I never wear anymore. I realized I could repurpose them into something else! Here are some tutorials for recycling shirts: Check out these t-shirt scarves!

Last month I got an email from one of those "deal of the day" websites featuring a very cute set of wine glasses with chalkboard stems from a company called Chalkboard China . I've seen chalkboard glasses before, and always thought them to be a fun and chic way for guests to keep track of their glass throughout the night so you don't end up with mixed-up glasses or dozens of half-full glasses left around the house. But all the ones I've seen in stores feature a strip of chalkboard paint across the bowl of the glass, which I've always felt looks awkward and takes away from the beauty of the wine or beverage in the glass.

Hi everyone! February is the lovers‘ month! The month where we celebrate Love with a big L.So here is where my story begins, the chandelier in the picture above has the “what dreams are made of” connotations. I’ve been coveting this since the first time I laid my eyes on it! When I moved into my Townhouse a year ago I wanted so badly to recreate this look, but after price point shopping, I accepted that was never going to happen. (sorry the pic is so small, the website is protected and it’s the best I could get). I decided to go with this instead,( this is my living room ), I also hung a smaller version in the stairwell leading to my loft bedroom.

DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath {Made From Rolled Recycled Book Pages}
I have seen various versions of Faux Rosewood Wreaths in just about every store and catalog for the upcoming season; most with a price tag running upwards of $40 or more. Some are crafted of paper and other of real wood shavings. Last year I made a few rolled flower gift toppers from recycled book pages and they remind me so much of the curled wood roses I thought they would make a good substitute.Stay Updated to the Latest Blog Post!
