Lin's generous donation of his private collection on Taiwan aboriginal artifacts purchased in recent 20 years from Taiwan and oversea places such as Japan. After the establishing the Museum, there were some aboriginal friends, who comprehended Mr. Lin's ideal and ways of doing, donated their family's ancestral treasures to the Museum. In addition, there were some entrepreneurs, who had received cultural artifact gifts from Chairman Lin, returned those artifact gifts either before or after the establishment of the Museum as they understood Mr. Lin's passion on culture and education. The focus is contemporary cloth with garments and home furnishings selected from the Anokhi Archives, as well as traditional fabric still worn in local communities today, albeit in dwindling numbers. Historic pieces supplement the displays and provide a context for the craft. Complimented by an ongoing research program in select regions, the collection displays numerous styles and processes including natural dyes, dabu mud-resist and varak gold printing. There is increasing emphasis on capturing the personal stories embedded in the cloth.
