The collections form an expanding repository of block printed textiles, tools and images. The focus is contemporary cloth with garments and home furnishings selected from the Anokhi Archives, as well as traditional fabric still worn in local communities today, albeit in dwindling numbers. Historic pieces supplement the displays and provide a context for the craft.

National Textile Museum is located at JKR 26, Lot 50 Seksyen 70, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Kuala Lumpur, a heritage building previously occupied by various departments and institutions. The building which was completed in 1896 is 2 ½ level with an area of 3259 m2 and floor area of 3145.3 m2.

Their interest in and commitment to the study and conservation of historic textile fabrics dated back to their youth. They assigned five main tasks to their new foundation:San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles
The 17th biennial juried exhibition of Quilt National returns to the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles for the first time since 2006. This quintessential exhibition of contemporary art quilts features 46 works by first time entrants and established artists. Juried by Eleanor McCain, Pauline Verbeek-Cowart, and Nelda Warkentin in Ohio during the fall of 2010, the exhibit showcases state-of-the art contemporary quilting in all of its range of styles, techniques, and multi-faceted contemporary expressions.
Opened in 1975 in Tullio Buzzi Technical Institute, Prato Textile Museum commenced its cultural mission by providing a collection of items testifying the history of local textile production since the beginning of the 12th century for use in the training of new technicians in the textile design sector.
