US economy made easy

The gargantuan mountain of cash that separates the rich from everyone else. Below (center pic) is a diagram representing the different annual income levels of all Americans in stacks of cash. At the very top are the super-rich (see the tiny box?). At the bottom are the poor and the 'middle-class' (see the little box in the lower corner?). Everything in-between is inhabited by various ranks of millionaire. Notice the little pink block at bottom left in the left-hand image? I'd never heard word of criticism about unions in my life until I was in college and worked summers for a small, independent contractor with only two full-time employees. Right around the time I graduated, it happened that my Dad needed a ride from work. Then, some longhaired, leather-jacketed maggot with a scruffy goatee drove past on a forklift.

A few years later, studying for my Master's degree, I lived in a low-rent apartment. As Sen.
