Since February of 2010, students and Jasper Place High School, have been working to create a unique permaculture (Permeant + Agriculture) program and have successfully implemented a food producing forest system in the school's largest courtyard. Containing more that seventy different edible species of perennial herbs, the courtyard system is designed using principles of ecology and does not depend on outside watering, tilling, weeding, or chemical application. In addition, the food forest system naturally builds soil and encourages biodiversity. http://www.facebook.com/Permaculture.School?sk=info
