Materials: $1 grape vine wreath40 Pencils ($1 per pack of ten) = $4glue gunribbonscissors I started by trimming all of the excess curls and messy branches off of the grapevine wreath to give it a clean look. You could leave these for a more rustic look. We used all yellow pencils because we wanted an old school look, but I think the multicolored pencils would be cute too. Next I started hot gluing pencils onto the wreath. When I got back around to the beginning (or end if you look at it that way). To finish it off I wove some rick rack ribbon around the wreath, gluing in strategic places to keep it attached. So for a total of $5 and about 20 minutes, we have a great gift that my daughter is really proud to have helped make for her teacher. Tags: Craft, gift, Teacher gift. Stellated dodecahedrons! By Kate on July 2, 2012 Hello there.
I seem to be stuck in a geometric-paper-model rut at the moment! I promise this will be the last one for a while! (I have just white-washed a lot of the walls in our home so I have been looking to make some colourful objects to hang up…these are just the job). Making stellated dodecahedrons is fairly time consuming and requires a light-touch and a fair bit of patience…so teenagers/adults only! As usual there is a how-to below…along with printable templates. It’s ‘summer’ here in the UK but it hasn’t stopped raining for months (or so it seems). You will need - – - – - – - - // Scissors // Paper (or thin card) // Double sided tape (I also made one using a gluestick but the tape yielded much better results) // Ruler // Needle…or similar sharp point for scoring the paper 1. 2. 3&4.
