The National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) has published an 84-page draft of its cloud computing guidelines, NIST Cloud Computing Synopsis and Recommendations, or SP 800-146, and is seeking comment from federal agencies and the public on its recommendations. The three volume draft, put together--with input from the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), the Office of Management and Budget, and the interagency Federal Cloud Computing Standards and Technology Working Group--over a series of public workshops and other collaborative sessions, defines the government's top priorities for standards and requirements for cloud services.
