It was a great way for my kids (who are too young to go on trips offered through base) to see the DMZ. There is no age restriction. My 2 year old and 8 year old came along with my sister and me. The train itself is small, 3 cars long. It's brightly colored, has pictures of the Korean War displayed throughout each car and even has a place to buy snacks. Before you may enter into the civilian controlled area at the DMZ, you must show Korean soldiers your passport. Then it's back on to the train and off to Dorasan Station! Once you arrive at Dorasan Station, you get off the train and head into the train station. *As of Jan 2015* The Shuttle one was 11,700 won per adult and the Walk to was 8,700 won per adult. So once you leave the station, you walk out to the waiting buses.

You ride the bus up to the Dorasan Observatory. Then it's off to lunch! The next AND FINAL STOP on the bus is the Peace Park. Korean Sand Dunes. Yesterday we all packed up in the car and headed out for another Korean adventure. This time our destination was Taeanhaean National Park. We, however, did not end up going to the original destination of Hagampo (Hakampo) Beach. We got side tracked when we saw a sign for Sinduri Coastal Sand Dunes. So, we turned off of 634 a little early and headed towards Sinduri Beach. The learning area is located on the lower level. This is the entrance to the interactive learning area. On one wall there was a shelf, markers and sticky notes. There are displays on how coastal sand dunes form, the animals that call the habitat home, the plants that are found throughout the area, as well as other information about coastal sand dunes.

There were 4 flowers that you could smell, 2 of which were pungent in the not so pleasant way. Yesterday the kids and I went and explored Children's Grand Park in Seoul. Daddy was working, so we didn't have the car, which I didn't really want to drive to Seoul anyways. So instead, we jumped on the bus that goes right by our house and went into Anjung-ri to get some won before heading up to Seoul. We hopped on the 20 bus and rode it to AK Plaza. Then we got on the dark blue metro line (#1) heading north towards Seoul.

From Pyongtaek it was 16 stops to Geumjeong. The metro is not crowded in Pyongtaek, but the closer we got to Seoul, the more crowded it became. Upon exiting the station, you walk straight a few hundred feet and then you see the grand entrance to the park. There is so much to see and do within the park. The botanical garden is green.
