Cool, heres somit of what ive learnt and some Qs for peeps who know more ive been learning mayas "propper" subD modeling tools not the proxy mesh stuff (or smoothmesh) which is a poor relation to maxes modifier based subD in both terms of functionality and in speed (just a simple mesh smoothed to a decent degree will slow down after just a couple of edge insertions) basic operation of this has two modes which is waht im having problems with at the moment. proxy mode in which you alter the mesh add loops add extrusions etc standard mode which you use to crease the mesh, a complete crease is like using maxes smoothing groups and a partial crease is half way in between, pulling the shape into a more prescise corner (like adding edgeloops in max but without doing so heres an example of shape made in this mode, making edge loops sharper by going up the display levels and partially creasing. now this is all well and good, but Im having some workflow issues with it,

Action. Atmosphere. Theme. Public Enemies by Team Penyx is an exercise in how to execute these things in the strongest of fashion. Amidst all of this is some of the finest “AAA” quality artwork we’ve ever seen posted at Polycount. Because they demonstrated their talents so amazingly well and scored 1st Place for the Escape, the team of Chris, Robert, and Ron* are off to visit Valve where they will have their hotel & air accommodations paid for.

Goats of Gobhar is the product of my Advanced Level Design class during my time at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which I worked on as part of a group with 3 other students.

We were tasked with creating a playable level in UDK over the course of 11 weeks. My group decided to create a playable co-op experience taking place in a fictional celtic setting. The aim of the level was to defend your village and your goats from the dreaded Cragsnatch, a sea monster. We tried to base our art style on something close to Darksiders II, and focused on having large identifiable forms that still had some smaller details mixed in. I was tasked with making most of the "natural" assets for the level, which included the cliffs, foliage, terrain textures, and in addition to those, I created the custom player weapon.
