Weathered Beach Signs

Bring a little of that beachy feeling home even farther by making some rustic looking beach signs to dress up your home. Ideal for bathroom decor! DIY: Friendship Bracelet chevron rug

You know, given my love of all things oversized. After multiple attempts I came up with this rug for the new Chalkboard Magazine (it's awesome. Check it out here). Any other size is too thick to actually use. Sun-Kissed Ombre Stripes. Sun kissed dye effects are everywhere right now - from tie dye to dip dye and ombre.

Sun-Kissed Ombre Stripes

On my trip to India last month (yes, it’s August already) I saw so much of this trend being done in the factories and I know it’s as emerging in home accessories as it is in clothes. I tackled the trend here in a way that is subtle and doesn’t look to home-done and have a very simple strategy that I think you’ll love! Instead of using dyes, which can be hard to control the saturation, I decided to use bleach to remove color and give me a more sun-faded light look for inside my home. I love the way it turned out and have literally been bursting at the seams to show you guys this week!

KEEP READING for the full instructions! All you need for this project is something to dye (preferably cotton based) and some bleach and painters tape. DIY Abstract Wall Art

I have the perfect, low-cost, high-impact solution. Andrew and I have a large wall in our office/craft room that's been a decorating dilemma for us. Art With a Story

Inspired by Yulia Brodskaya. I can't get over how amazing these are.

Inspired by Yulia Brodskaya

I wouldn't be surprised if Yulia invented quilling. She is a 28 year old artist from Moscow who creates beautiful designs from vertical pieces of thin paper and her website is full of inspiration in color, line, shadow and technique. You don't have to be a fellow quiller to wish you were like this great lady. Even though her pieces would be amazing if they were drawn, it was the fact that they are 3d that caught my attention.

Last Stitch Effort

Of course, there are the classic lucite options, but if I’m going to spend eight (or nine, or ten…) hours a day at my desk, I wouldn’t mind the company of some interesting and pretty organizational accessories. Since Lisa Frank is no longer deemed stylish, I set out to fix this problem DIY style, and discovered a new appreciation for standard steel mesh office supplies.
