The design we’re making here uses just six different modules that can be transformed subtly, by rotating, flipping and so on, to create an entire alphabet.

We’ll work with the Pen tool, and make basic use of the Pathfinder and Transform commands. Using Illustrator’s Snap To Grid option I’ll also demonstrate some simple rules that will help you draw well-proportioned and attractive curves. Of course, the main reason you would want to work with type in Photoshop is so that you can treat it as an image and create some striking effects. In this Photoshop tutorial, I’ll run you through how to quickly and easily set type. Also, by duplicating some simple effects and blending modes, you will be able to achieve a very striking, graphic type piece. 01 As with any new piece, set up a new document to your desired spec and size, and snap guides to the document boundaries and central axis. Lumn-grid poster design made neat and easy. A column grid system is a particularly useful tool for any designer wanting to create perfectly aligned typography. It can be used in both print design projects and in your web designs, to help you achieve pixel-perfect website layouts.
