Quem somos O Trocal de Lisboa é um grupo informal de pessoas interessadas em partilhar o seu tempo e conhecimento, criando laços e redes sociais. É uma iniciativa que procura promover a partilha de saber e a entreajuda. Tudo é feito sem dinheiro ou qualquer tipo de contabilização dos serviços ou objectos oferecidos, e a retribuição é em geral facultativa e espontânea.
Neste contexto as pessoas descobrem a alegria de dar, ao mesmo tempo que desenvolvem os seus interesses e capacidades. O conceito de troca foi dando lugar à partilha, à dádiva, ao convívio, passando a ser mais abrangente do que a troca contabilizada ou a troca directa. Hoje em dia nos nossos encontros fala-se mais do que queremos fazer juntos e do que cada um tem para dar. Nos encontros do trocal pensamos em maneiras de levar em frente os interesses comuns, para depois concretizá-los em, por exemplo, oficinas de fabrico de pão, passeios de campo para conhecer ervas medicinais, ou encontros de mães (e pais).

Welcome to the on-line version of Sacred Economics. This is a book that explores, on a social, political, and personal level, the transition in money and economy that is upon us today. With the agreement of the publisher, EVOLVER EDITIONS/North Atlantic Books, I am making the full text available on line one chapter at a time over a period of about six months. By the end of 2011, the complete book will be on this website. I am doing so, first, in order that this information can spread as widely as possible in a time of mounting crisis; secondly, to align the book with the spirit of the gift that lies at the heart of a sacred economy; and third, because it no longer feels right to attempt to profit through creating an artificial scarcity of things, like digital content, that are fundamentally abundant.
