Tutorial for a High-Waist Skirt

High Waist/Corsetted Skirt Tutorial This is a pattern and construction tutorial for a high- waist skirt. These skirts are particularly well-suited to corset-style details, either with a functional lace up back or a decorative faux lacing (back, front, two at the sides, etc). This tutorial is meant for those with intermediate sewing/ pattern drafting skills. Sewingwise: you should be familiar with panel or princess-seam designs, multi-layered construction, use of reinforcing materials/interfacings, and incorporating decorative features such as lacings. Draftingwise: you should be familiar with drafting patterns for yourself and therefore know how to apply your measurements to a pattern, and how they translate into 2D.
http://sew-loli.livejournal.com/1270629.html Hi everyone! This isn't 100% lolita right out of the box tutorial, but it is very lolifi-able! In fact, what prompted me to make this tutorial was a few people showing interest in the EGL community, so I figured I'd share it with everyone :) This first link is a Millinery 101 post on my blog: Introduction to Millinery (please excuse what I dork I am in my videos D; ) This will get you familiar with the materials and tools necessary for the process, and how to prep them. Once you've read through that, I have Flat Pattern Drafting !

This is how to make a skirt like First: You want to measure your waist and how long you want the skirt. you then want to divide the skirt length by 3. This image shows a rectange the width of waist and width of skirt length, and it had been divided in three along skirt length. The sections have been marked a, b, and c. Second: You want to make section a twice the length of your waist, section b three times the length of your waist, and section c four times the length of your waist. Their width will be what you got when you divided skirt length by three.

http://sew-loli.livejournal.com/1248751.html Well, I was just gearing up for a day of loli sewing, going through my bookmarks, when I realized I had never shared my lolita roundup with you guys! I made this roundup for the Threadbanger forums, and actually got some of the links from this comm, but I'd never seen any other roundup as complete as this one is on any lolita community. I hope it'll be useful to you girls to have these all in one place!
