Refashioned Shirt: Take Two. After my first attempt at refashioning a shirt out of hand-me-downs and outgrown clothes, I decided to head to Ross to look for some cheapie tshirts.

Refashioned Shirt: Take Two

Following another tutorial from Tea Rose Home I made a second shirt as a gift for a sweet 16 birthday. The pictures aren't great, but they get the general process. I really liked how this one turned out (and it looked super cute on, too). Happy Sweet 16 Kylie! :) The Hats Off To Cardigan. I fell in love with this sweater on ModCloth: The Hats Off To Cardigan It's $52.99 on ModCloth, and while that's not too outrageously expensive, I knew I could make it for a lot less.

I thought I'd give it a shot. It turned out a bit different, but here's my attempt. 1) I bought 2 t-shirts for $4 each. One to wear and one for the extra matching fabric. I think these embellished t-shirts usually look best tone on tone. 2) I cut off the hemmed sleeves and the collar, to give it more of a raw look. 3) I cut some strips out of the extra shirt. 4) I sewed them on the shirt like this. See how I moved up the shirt doing the same? Now it's time to add the bow. 5) I sewed on the two hangy-down parts of the bow. Ta-dah! It was raining outside, so I couldn't get the lens to focus on me while using the timer - just the rain. DIY JASON WU INSPIRED LACE EMBELLISHED SWEATSHIRT.

Noel Home: Comfy PJ Pants for the Whole Family

It was created last year for a special New Sewists Series they put together, and the instructions show you how to make pajama pants without a pattern; simply grab your favorite current pair and use them as a template. We added a jazzy bottom accent cuff to ours so we could mix and match our beautiful Michael Miller Bonnes Amies fabrics. This is a perfect project for beginners: super fast, easy and instantly gratifying. We thought it would be great fun to surprise the whole family on Christmas morning with matching PJ pants. Chalk out cutting lines directly onto the fabric. Working off of a rectangle, I cut a triangular gusset and inverted it, re-attaching to the leg. How wide the leg fabric is depends on how full you want the final pants to be (narrower for a tapered style, wider for a relax fit). Be careful not to cut the rise too large as it will stretch and droop some resulting in a larger drop than you might think. Use full width of 45″ fabric and select a fabric that can be cut in either direction. Straighten cut ends to a right angle [90 degree]. Fold the fabric, with right sides together (RST), in half lengthwise so that selvedges align.

The minimum outseam length is the measurement from your waistline, over the buttock and down the leg to your heel. At bottom of rectangle, measure half the distance from foldline to selvedge to create the leg cuff . For the rise, measure down 13″ from the waist along the selvedge edge. Sewn Felt Slippers. I came across this Martha Stewart how-to for some sewn felt slippers. I've been on serious lookout for new slippers lately which has been surprisingly difficult. All the lady slippers available for purchase look like either your grandma wears them in her bathroom or your little sister wears them as her feet are dangling from her chair while she eats breakfast at the kitchen table. Most of them are thong slippers or open toe which makes no sense to me since the primary reason I wear slippers is to keep my ice toes thawed. They are also usually made out of fabric that should be used for an infant's teddy bear.

For these reasons I have to resort to mens slippers which are fantastic foot huggers perfect for gliding from sewing machine to sewing machine all day but come in hideous colors (apparently any color besides black, navy, and taupe falls off the end of the Earth when it comes to mens footwear). I cut the top half out of gold felt and the bottom half out of grey felt. Ta-da!! Sweater Boots!! ∙ How To by Niamh O. Cardigan selber nähen. Refashion T-Shirts Into Something Pretty {20+ Tutorials.
