Join the Trails and Open Space Coalition for the 22nd Annual Starlight Spectacular on June 18th, 2016. This fun night-time bicycle ride is suitable for most ages and abilities. This year’s theme is SPACE, so start planning your costumes now. Choose your route, from 14 to 22 miles, starting and ending at Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center, through the City of Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and the Garden of the Gods.
Before the ride, enjoy music, food and drink, costumes and contests! All riders must wear helmets, with front lights and rear lights on their bikes. Proceeds benefit the Trails and Open Space Coalition – dedicated to preserving open space and parks and creating a network of trails, bikeways and greenways for the Pikes Peak region. The 4th of July celebration is fast approaching and we are in need of volunteers. This is a fun event to work! Docents and junior docents can sign up to work in the historic areas. This event benefits the preservation and restoration of Rock Ledge Ranch. Welcome to the 2015 Territory Days celebration, hosted by Old Colorado City Associates, Ltd (OCCA), the merchant association for the West Side. In 1859, the small settlement of El Dorado, located at the eastern entrance to the pass, that went thru the mountains to the west, was renamed Colorado City, by its founders, and became the first permanent town in the Pikes Peak region. Early settlers included farmers, ranchers, freighter and outfitters for the people who were rushing to the western minefields.
