SMS and Mobile Marketing Infographics #7 | mediaburst

This is my lame attempt at achieving balance for our 7th in the series of SMS and mobile marketing infographics. Yes, I may not be a fan but QR codes are here to stay, and it’s all the fault of the market leading Japanese. http://www.mediaburst.co.uk/blog/sms-and-mobile-marketing-infographics-7/

The addition of the QR code to the sales sticker is a logical progression. Distributing this technology to car dealerships is AutoPlus .

The Naked Truth about QR Codes | QR codes and 2D

I am a firm believer in the QR Code as an effective gateway to information. I take it's widespread adoption as evidence that other people feel the same. But lately, I've been subjected to conflicting opinions regarding the true growth and efficacy of QR Code campaigns. Everybody has an opinion. The nature of opinions, however, is such that they are derived most often from limited empirical evidence collected from someone's personal microcosm. The problem being that personal microcosms are biased by definition. http://barcode.com/the-naked-truth-about-qr-codes.html
This post is part of our ReadWriteMobile channel, which is dedicated to helping its community understand the strategic business and technical implications of developing mobile applications. This channel is sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent . A recent report released by research consultancy PSFK looks at the key trends occurring within the mobile tagging space - that is, the trends associated with the use of mobile barcodes, QR codes and Microsoft Tags. In particular, the report looks at usage and development from the branding and marketing angle, to determine the many ways in which companies have adopted barcode tagging to better communicate with their customers. While that may be too narrow a focus to dub the report "The Future of Mobile Tagging," as it's being called, it's an interesting read nonetheless.

QR Codes Hope to Be This Summer’s Breakaway Hit: Tech News and Analysis «

Summer is on its way in North America. The days are getting longer, the weather’s warming up, and people are spending time outside. And nowadays, most of those people have a cellphone handy. Startups in the long-simmering QR code market are hoping that the change in season, along with what they say is a “critical mass” of smart phones, will finally bring QR codes, barcodes that lead to URLs or information when scanned, into the mainstream. The idea is that when more people are out and about, the more likely it is that they’ll interact with QR codes on things like movie and concert promotion posters. And at least two QR code startups are in the process of closing on fresh rounds of funding to make sure they can seize what they think is a major opportunity to bring QR awareness to the masses.

QR Marketing Evolving Rapidly [Study] - Search Engine Watch (#SEW)

Rapid adoption of QR codes and other action codes is only part of the story in a new study. More important is the way that marketers are learning to use them more effectively. Nellymoser Inc. released a study of all 2011 issues of the top 100 U.S. magazines. It found that advertising drove the 439 percent increase in action codes from January through December. In January, there were seven advertising codes for each editorial code. By September, the ratio was nearly 25:1.
