The Inside Facebook blog posted some astounding growth statistics this week for the social networking site. For one thing, Facebook is growing faster than the population in China. Through it all, the company has managed to keep its systems up and running and not suffer any growing pains outages that have often plagued fast growth start-ups. The independent blog , not published by Facebook, shows the company's growth in recent weeks has soared to more than 600,000 new users signing up every day, up from about 300,000 to 400,000 a day just a few months earlier.Facebook Hits 500 Million Members

However, the total amount of time spent by these users on site is up considerably, from 500 million minutes in late June to 700 million now.
