La bataille entre Facebook et Google est passionnante parce qu’elle démontre deux visions radicalement différentes du processus de globalisation. D’un côté, Google, qui pense qu’à la fin du processus de globalisation le monde sera organisé autour d’ordinateurs capables de tout faire. Dès lors l’enjeu est de construire des algorithmes et des fermes de serveurs véloces capables d’organiser et de comprendre l’information que Google aura numérisé. Derrière cette vision se cache une espérance prométhéenne. Des systèmes informatiques, débarrassés de la dimension affective et irrationnelle de la pensée humaine, seront capables de prendre les bonnes décisions, les plus efficientes et justes pour l’humanité.
