Les Finlandais de Turisas utilisent une iconographie très viking pour leur power folk metal, probablement en souvenir de l'appartenance jadis de la Finlande au royaume de Suède. Formé en 1997, Turisas est reconnu avec son premier album Battle Metal en 2004, à tel point que "battle metal" sert à qualifier le style du groupe. Avec The Varangian Way , la saga héroïque de Turisas fait le tour du monde, portée par des accoutrements scéniques dignes du temps des drakkars. Stand Up and Fight en 2011 confirme la veine résolument belliqueuse d'un groupe à ne pas sous-estimer. Les sagas vikings, véhiculées par l'histoire et le cinéma, rejoignent désormais les rivages de l'heroic fantasy.

Whilst we're finishing up our regional tour at home, partaking in festive merriments and seeing in the new year with good vibes, we'd love to announce our return to Europe in 2012! You can see us play festivals such as Hurricane *, Southside * and Peace & Love amongst many others, including our own headline shows that will be announced very soon. We are very, very happy, over the moon in fact to be announcing our forthcoming regional tour of NSW and QLD Australia. Off the back of a massive sell out tour of Europe playing to enormous crowds at legendary festivals such as Rock Am Ring and PinkPop, we at Wolfmother headquarters couldn't think of a better way to spend the Australian summer than to hit the regional pub circuit of Australia for some upfront and personal, flat out loud rock shows.

Formé en 1984 par le guitariste Jon Schaffer à Tampa (Floride), Iced Earth a tardé à s'imposer. Le groupe débute sa discographie en 1990 avec Iced Earth mais doit attendre trois albums supplémentaires et The Dark Saga en 1996 pour vraiment attirer l'attention. Malgré les fréquents changements de personnel - personne ne tient plus de dix ans avec Jon Schaffer - Iced Earth atteint sa plénitude artistique et commerciale avec Horror Show (2001), The Glorious Burden (2004), et The Crucible of Man (2008).

Symphonic metallers KAMELOT have inked a deal with King Records for the Japanese release of their next album, tentatively due the Fall 2012. KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood added: “We are very excited about working again with King on the new album! We are also planning to return to Japan for some very special concerts with all the amazing fans there” . New headliner show in Ventura, CA at Ventura Theater next October 4th, 2012. This show is included into Kamelot’s North American Tour 2012 with Nightwish.We are happy to announce that Lori Lewis have obtained permanent status in Therion. She has been a fantastic partner of the band being a great friend and making the best operatic performace known to the metal world for several years. Now she will also be an active part of the creative process behind the making of our future releases. We know fans will agree when we say she is one of a kind and have a natural place in the band now and in the future.

Installé à Hollywood au début des années 1990, le compositeur anglais Harry Gregson-Williams est formé au métier par Hans Zimmer avant de s'atteler seul aux musiques des séries Shrek et Le Monde de Narnia . Collaborateur régulier de Tony Scott pour qui il signe les thèmes de Spy Game , Pelham 123 et Unstoppable , Gregson-Williams est aussi le compositeur attitré du jeu vidéo Metal Gear Solid . En 2010, il crée la partition de Prince of Persia . Harry Gregson-Williams, né le 13 décembre 1961 en Angleterre, exerce La Fonction de professeur de musique à la prestigieuse Guildhall School londonienne avant de se diriger vers la composition au début des années 1990, à l'instar de ses frères Rupert et Josh. Un Anglais à Los Angeles Emigré à Los Angeles, il est pris sous l'aile du compositeur Hans Zimmer qui lui enseigne les aspects du genre et l'attelle à diverses tâches comme la coordination ou la direction des choeurs sur Le Roi Lion (1994) ou USS Alabama (1995).
