Au départ, il ne devait pas y avoir de musique dans Polisse , ou tout du moins très peu. Un comble quand on voit comment certaines scènes s’articulent parfaitement avec la bande son. Puis il y a eu la rencontre entre Maïwenn, la réalisatrice, et Stephen Warkeck (Shakespeare In Love, Billy Elliot) à l’avant-première du film Un balcon sur la mer. Un vrai coup de cœur qui s’est matérialisé sous la forme d’une bande originale pour Polisse. Au commencement, une seule musique, " Fred", toute en pureté et en tension uniquement interprétée au piano.
