Lund is a small university city with a limited amount of accommodation and many students are looking for housing at the same time. Therefore, we recommend that you have your accommodation sorted out before your arrival. Lund University does not have a campus area. The University departments and housing areas are spread throughout the city.
To find somewhere to live in Lund, Malmö or Helsingborg you can apply via LU Accommodation or use an accommodation agency. We cannot guarantee housing to all students and ultimately it is your own responsibility to find housing. Introductory Swedish. Lund University offers a short introduction to the Swedish language for exchange students.
The course is called SUSA and it is designed to give exchange students a smooth integration into Swedish society. The course concludes with a written exam and is worth 3 ECTS credits. Application to SUSA You can only apply for this course in advance. Applications for SUSA are made in the combined online application where you also apply for the mentor programme. Intensive language instruction Instruction is offered at beginner's and intermediate levels.
More information can be found on the SUSA web page. Further studies in Swedish If after SUSA, you want to study more Swedish, you have the possibility to apply for the SVE courses. Mentors and Friends. Lund University welcomes approximately 3 500 international students every year. As an international student, you will have many opportunities to meet new people, get to know a new language and a different culture. You will experience new things, discover different aspects of life and meet people with different ideas, values and views on life. To help you settle in to Lund and get to know your way around, Lund University offers an International Mentor Programme. The mentors help new students with practical matters and introduce you to various student activities and everyday Swedish living. The groups consists of three or four mentors (either Swedish or international students who have been studying here already) and 15-20 new international students.
