Defunct Fashion
Jessie Franklin Turner | Tea Gown | c. 1940 Teagowns or “negligees” as the style was sometimes called at the time, were adapted from strictly at home wear to dinner and evening dress in the 1930s. This particular teagown, one of her most well-known design types, exemplifies this alternative form of formal dress and Turner’s luxurious and unconventional design aesthetic. The use of sumptuous materials and textures, combined in pleasing ways, was a signature element of her designs, seen here in the expert juxtaposition of taffeta, lace, chiffon and satin. Turner was also known for her interesting, often unexpected, color combinations, shown in this teagown in the use of calming celadon satin, chiffon and lace contrasted with the softest of pink and vibrant magenta details.Fuck Yeah 60's Fashion
I get loads of questions asking what to wear to sixties themed events. I made this set of a few key items that are easy to get a hold of! Your first stop in finding these items should be your local thrift store. They are the most authentic and definitely the least expensive. It can sometimes be tricky to find exactly what you’re looking for though, especially in a short period of time. In that case, stores such as H&M or Forever 21 usually have great retro style pieces.Styledevil | Faksimile.no

Last Sunday I had a chance to photograph for Agata Wojtkiewicz . We shoot in her new boutique in Warsaw, two days before the grand opening. Here are some fun backstage photos and ready lookbook. I'm visiting Agata on Friday to try on my wedding dress and to get the full view of this marvelous boutique.MAFFASHION

Oy vey, I've given up on collecting all the images/playlists/collages/stickers/diary entries/etc. necessary for my usual all-encompassing VIBES posts. The task has suddenly become really daunting! And tedious! And a blog is probably not the best format for being retrospective and examining all the music/movies/outfits/etc.

Remember Josefien Rodermans who I first photographed at the Givenchy presentation last summer? Then you can imagine my happiness when I saw her again this fashion week at Mulberry! I love seeing the same familiar faces at shows - especially the ones that seem as beautiful and serene as Josefien. I'm also happy to see she's doing more work, having recently walked at the (amazing by the way) Vuitton show in Paris.DISARMING DARLING
*diy top from UO, vintage pants cut into shorts, vintage bag, harley davidson boots + ebay boot straps, vintage necklaces, vintage belt, vintage coat. wore this out to a bar last night... and then again today... because i was too lazy to change. the top was once this dress , but i somehow always find myself frantically cutting and dying things before leaving my house, so this salmon colored top is the end result. i've realized that i must always keep bleach in my house for moments like that. the shell necklace... oh, the shell necklace. i'll refrain from typing a full paragraph confessing my undying love for it. things could get real weird real fast.Favorite fashion week imagery, I love the color mixing happening lately. images from StreetFSN , Self Service , Tommy Ton , image #1- jil sander -source??. The other night I had the pleasure of visiting the atelier of Cécile Daladier . The space alone is impressive, adding to that we were told it used to be the studio of Alexander Calder at some point while he was in Paris, but what makes it so beautiful and inspiring is the spirit and aesthetic that Cécile has created within it.
