January 29th, 2012 Whenever I made images and movies of my NXT robots previously, I always have been unsatisfied with the quality of my recordings. Hence, I decided to build a stable camera stand to avoid at least wiggly images. Of course, as a NXT builder I ended up not with a simple stand but with a programmable camera car on rails (which is, as I learned, in lingo called a “ camera dolly “): I’ve started to migrate some of the NXT robots that I have built so far from my old web site to my new one: see the page My NXT robots in the right sidebar.

Fribot - FRIbourg roBOTics
Après sa transformation en prison l'année passée, l'auditoire Joseph Deiss s'est mué en centre des énergies renouvelables cette année. Comparé à l'édition précédente, plus d'équipes sont parvenues à résoudre le challenge proposé par cette 8ème édition de Fribot. Pour rappel, le parcours du robot était le suivant: partir à temps de son box de départ, éteindre une centrale thermique, se recharger dans un box solaire, orienter une éolienne dans le sens du vent et trouver la nouvelle source d'énergie correspondante à un capteur de foudre. L'équipe The Marvins , vainqueur de cette édition 2011, a su remporter ce challenge avec aisance et rapidité. Tout au long de la journée, les équipes se sont démenées afin d'élaborer la meilleure stratégie dont le but d'obtenir le maximum de points, nécessaire à l'ouverture de la porte des quarts de final.
