Now don't get me wrong this can be well implemented at times you only have to look at the Cmoy Mint Amps housed in an Altoids Tin to see a good implementation. There are quite a few nice off the shelf commercial chassis's available such as Hammond Mfg extruded aluminium series but they are very height limited you aren't going to fit any type of large transformer in there .There are many others some from EBay, some of the Chinese chassis are great but factor in shipping and tax and your soon racking up £100 + only to have to modify it and this is where my journey begins.......

Time to bend or nearly. UV Transilluminator. UV-transilluminators are used in molecular biology labs to view DNA (or RNA) that has been separated by electrophoresis through an agarose gel.

During or immediately after electrophoresis, the agarose gel is stained with a fluorescent dye which binds to nucleic acid. Exposing the stained gel to a UVB light source causes the DNA/dye to fluoresce and become visible. This technique is used wherever the researcher needs to be able to view their sample, for example sizing a PCR product, purifying DNA segment after a restriction enzyme digest, quantifying DNA or verifying RNA integrity after extraction. This Instructable tutorial describes how to make a UVB (310nm) transilluminator with a 7 x 7 cm window for viewing ethidium bromide (or SYBR-Safe) stained DNA mini-gels. Inspired by Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, I decided to let creativity into my life, and start inventing things. I watched Sterling Johnson’s magnificent “Giant Stinson Beach Bubbles” clip on YouTube, and when I described it to my neighbor Yuval, he suggested that I combine bubble-making with Arduino, which I had been playing with. Bam! That was all I needed. I submitted the Bubblebot project idea, and it was accepted to Geekcon, where I had the exciting experience of collaborating with all these bright people and watching the design manifest from their suggestions.
