Posted by Cory Zechmann in ElectronicNov 13th, 2011 Ever since I heard Little Dragon on the Gorillaz’ track “Empire Ants,” I’ve had a spin-tingling love obsession with lead singer Yukimi Nagano’s voice. However, in every track since, I haven’t found the instrumental backings that made her voice soar like the Gorillaz did… until now. Finally, we get something that backs up her voice like a charm, and no doubt it would be from the master mixer Party Ben. I’ve been following PB ever since Adam Sandler gave his approval, featuring a few mashups of his on the Just Go With It soundtrack. Take a look at this gem of a remix, which I’m guessing is for Shadow’s “Scale It Back” Remix Competition, though I can’t find his in there.. hmm…

The 88 – The 88 - Indie Shuffle. The 88 are a four-piece rock band hailing from Los Angeles, CA. They're known for unexpected and powerful live shows and even have some songs that have garnered various licenses in films, TV shows, and television commercials. Band members Keith Slettedahl (vocals and guitar), Adam Merrin (keys), Todd O'Keefe (bass guitar), and Anthony Zimmitti (on drums) have been together in a band since 2002 and were originally friends since high school. Over the years, the band has opened for acts like The Flaming Lips, Elliot Smith, The Thrills, and Matt Costa, among others.
The guys seem to have a blast playing together -- and it definitely comes through both live and on record. Their self-titled sixth studio album signifies a momentous return to their signature hooky and hi-energy sound.
