First Impressions: Testing Our Reactions in Resogun, the Prettiest Game on PS4

The spiritual successor to Super Stardust HD has been lighting chemical fireworks in our subconscious for several weeks now, leaving us spinning in circles Kylie Minogue-style at the mere prospect of getting some hands-on time with the PlayStation 4 exclusive recently. But did the retro shooter live up to our interstellar standards, or send our expectations plummeting back down to planet Earth? There are a number of beautiful games in production for Sony’s next generation super machine, but none of them look as good as the Housemarque developed digital download.

Flower Review. Thatgamecompany has depicted something that I never once imagined: what would a flower's dream look like if we could see it?

Flower Review

Flower, a PS3 downloadable that comes as a spiritual successor to flOw, is one of the most beautiful games that I've ever played. Not just because the visuals are entirely breathtaking, but also because the experience of playing it offers more enjoyment, emotion and enlightenment than any game I've tried in years. Before you read on, keep in mind that Flower isn't quite for everyone. There will be those that experiment with it but won't see the point, as it strays so far from the traditional spectrum of gameplay systems, but it's truly worth playing. Flower is a poem, where you as the player participate in the dreams of flowers confined to the ever-changing landscape of a colorless city.

Sony confirms its official PlayStation 4 launch titles: 22 games including five indies (updated) There's a good chance you're already well-acquainted with most of the launch titles for the PlayStation 4 by now, but Sony has today made things official and confirmed the complete list of titles that'll be available on day one.

That list totals 17 22 retail and download-only games in all (compared to 23 for the Xbox One, ten of which overlap between the two consoles), including five first-party titles, twelve third-party games, and five from indie developers. Sony does note the list is still subject to change -- we just saw Angry Birds: Star Wars added to both the PS4 and Xbox One launch line-ups yesterday -- but time is obviously fast running out for any major additions.

Also, while this is the launch day line-up, Sony has of course announced a number of other games that are set to roll out by the end of the year or early next year, some of which were pushed back from launch due to delays.
