NRL Supercoach Talk. Dream Team Watch: Round 2 - News - BigPond Sport. First-round fumbles, new coaching styles, injuries and a new scoring system combined to conjure a mixed first week of Toyota NRL Dream Team in 2012.
While most Dream Team coaches would have a few performers to smile about this week, almost all would have been unhappy with a few performers in their roster. The new scoring system has already turned a few heads, most notably with the big reward for tackle breaks (3 points a pop) and the harsh punishment for handling errors (-3 points each). It meant the strong performers notched some monster scores, while underperforming stars struggled to reach double figures. So while you plan who to trade in and out of your team in the next couple of weeks, before player prices start moving at the end of Round 3, here are the good, the bad and the ugly from the opening week of the season.
The good As always, the busy forwards proved to be Dream Team gold, led by workaholic Shaun Fensom, whose 62 tackles and a try earned him 88 points. The bad. Daily Telegraph NRL Fantasy Blog. THE shock dumping of the Warriors’ grand final halves pair Shaun Johnson and James Maloney will have huge implications for NRL SuperCoach.
Johnson is expected to play NSW Cup, while James Maloney, who will join the Roosters next year, missed the 17 and was instead named on an extended bench. With the SuperCoach grand final to take place this week, both could be costly omissions. Maloney and Johnson are each owned by 12 per cent of SuperCoaches, while Feleti Mateo, owned by 32 per cent, may see his work cut after being moved to five-eighth in their absence.
Meanwhile, the Warriors welcome the returns of SuperCoach stars Simon Mannering (ankle) and Konrad Hurrell (benched) to the starting side. Catch you for our usual live chat at 1pm Wednesday.
