1794 NOS DAC - Non Oversampling DAC with PCM1794 - no digital filter - modular design DIY DAC for high resolution audio 192/24 192kHz 24bit

As my wish list for the new design was now finalized, I wanted to take the following steps: Work out the theory of operation to do "no digital filter" mode and design DAC and logic around it Create a bread board with two PCM1794 for testing How to do the NOS (no digital filter) Mode How to generate maximum output versus minimum distortion How to make the Data signal -Right Justified/24 bits- out of -I2S Data- How to proper bias the PCM1794 Start listening tests and select best methods for: Influence of local power supply filtering Compare digital Filter against NOS Mode (to be sure ;-) Design PCBs for the Mainboard and DAC module Design a power supply for 5 Volt and 12 Volt obtain several USB receivers to do listening tests and select the best You can download the full schematics (USB mainboard version) from the download section or push the button below: Theory of operation to do "no digital filter"

De nouvelles réponses sur ce DAC... et des réponses éclairantes sur pas mal de points ... je sens que je vais prendre la version 0.01% :D :D :D First, thanks for the nice words, with an interest like that it will definite move into production, target is 2.5 months from now to availability, there are leadtime on those precision resistors in the quantity needed....

To answer questions are clarify things: Frequency Response, Impulse Response and Square Wave: The DAC is bit correct and FAST thanks to the low capacitance compact SMT design. Only limited by the programmable digital filters, a 270 Khz 1st order bessel LPF in output of the R-2R resistor chains and clock speed. H i F i D U I N O. (03/24/15) Updated the filter table.

I am consolidating all the user-level information in this post that is spread through several other posts. Where needed, I will clarify and include the latest available information. Ref: [1527] Note: in the diagram above the labels for “RIGHT CH” and “LEFT CH” are swapped. This was noted in the forums [1147] and I also checked it with a R/L test track. CUBIEBOARD FOR AUDIO? We’ll explore bit-perfect I2S output in the Cubieboards… There are two current versions of the boards: Cubieboard2 ($65) and Cubietruck ($95) [link].

CUBIEBOARD FOR AUDIO?

Both boards are based on the Allwinner A20 dual core processor. According to the A20 datasheet (p.20) [link] the chip supports up to 8 channels of I2S output: DO0 to DO3 represent the 4 stereo channels of I2S data.

F6 Power Amplifier The F6 is a very interesting amplifier, first designed in 2012 and presented in October at the Burning Amp Festival in San Francisco.

FIRST WATT F5

The transcript of my presentation there is available on the First Watt website under articles - F6 Talk at Burning Amp Festival 2012 and contains numerous comments and details about the original design, some of which are repeated here. The amplifier was not initially slated for commercial production, and I continued to refine the design over the course of the next year and a half, working with different parts and adjustment values until both I and my listeners were satisfied that I had gotten the most out of this topology. You can read the owner's manual here: F6 Owner's Manual I think you will find that both pieces contain some interesting observations about sound and design.

The F6 will become available this month (June 2014) and has a list price of $3500. My ES9018 DAC/Amp/Controller.. Hello Everybody, After about a year of working nights and weekends (not everyone of course) on my ES9018 DAC, output amplifier (includes the I/V and SE section), the microcontroller code and numerous series/shunt regulated power supplies the design is Finally close to completion.

What remains is the input board that accepts two 8-channel inputs of either I2S or DSD or one of each. The input board will stack on top of the 8-channel S/PDIF input board. A tactile switch selects from one of the 8 S/PDIF inputs, or either one of the I2S or DSD inputs. DIY. Travail-a-la-scie-plongeante - audiyofield. XONO / ONO In the very first mail of this thread, KDT asked what the differences are between the ONO and the XONO.

These are the main changes I made to the original design in the service manual. Instead of the 2SC1844 and 2SA991 I use BC550C and BC560C. Bases. Ugs - audiyofield. How to Solder: An Illustrated DIY Guide to Making Your Own Cables - Home Theater Forum and Systems - HomeTheaterShack.com. Part 3: Assembling the Necessary Tools and Supplies As with any worthwhile project, proper tools make the difference between things being a struggle or going smooth and easy. Here is a run-down of what you’ll need in order to solder cables. As mentioned before, many of these items are fairly generic and you’ll be able to use them for other projects and purposes; some of them you may already have in your tool box. Any specific brand/part number tools or supplies mentioned are items that I have found work best for their specific task in the process.

Soldering iron The soldering iron is arguably the most important tool for this job, so I’m reluctant to recommend any bargain-basement options. Another Weller option might be the budget SP40L iron.
