Call for Art-Science Residency Proposals at IMERA, Marseille. The Mattress Factory Art Museum. Fabric Workshop and Museum : Artists-in-Residence. The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) invites contemporary artists to create new work using experimental materials and techniques. This internationally acclaimed Artist-in-Residence Program hosts emerging and established regional, national, and international contemporary artists who have a demonstrated commitment to innovation and exploration.
To that end, FWM supports artistic experimentation by providing honorariums and materials to artists, and employing its facilities and staff to address their creative needs. Artists-in-residence are drawn from all disciplines, including painting, sculpture, architecture and design, conceptual and installation art, performance, and video. Working collaboratively with FWM's staff of printers and technicians, artists are introduced to new techniques, materials, and resources, and are thus able to realize projects that would not otherwise be possible.
Sculpture Space. Eighteen to twenty artists are selected every year. Each receives a stipend toward residency expenses. The Sculpture Space Review Committee and a rotating guest panelist make the selections. Artists are notified in January of the panel’s decision. Primary criteria are quality, originality and potential for growth. Free housing and $100 transportation stipend may be available for New York State artists, dependent on funding. Artists are requested to credit and acknowledge Sculpture Space when the work that they make here is subsequently exhibited or published, and to provide high quality images of their work for our website, archives, publications and grant applications. The Residency Residencies are scheduled between September and August, excluding December, with no more than four artists in residency at one time. Sculpture Space’s Studio Manager will provide an introductory orientation session and can provide technical assistance as needed.
