A pillow-top mattress is much more than just something that fits your bed. A mattress pad complements your mattress and improves your sleep quality. Not only that, but it also extends the lifespan of your mattress and therefore saves you money in the long run. These are just some benefits of having a mattress pad.
What Is A Bedside Mattress?
A mattress is a mattress that is about 5cm in thickness and lay above your usual mattress. It's not the same as a mattress cover that is much thinner. A mattress cover is something you put on (bed) the mattress and then put a sheet over. It is used primarily for hygiene purposes.
Complete Your Thin Mattress with A Thicker Mattress
It may be that you have made an incorrect choice when purchasing your mattress. Or maybe you have gone up or down since you bought your mattress. A bedside mattress can fix both situations. If you feel that your mattress is too hard or too soft or if the pressure from your body has changed so you are no longer comfortable, a bed mattress may be good.
If You Already Have A Good Mattress, Treat Yourself To A Bedside Mattress
Even though you are happy with your mattress, a bed mattress can still be a good idea. It gives your back proper support, covers the mattress and improves your sleep quality. It also extends the life of your regular mattress:
· It protects your mattress against moisture
· It protects your mattress against wear
· Your regular mattress keeps its shape longer
It may be a good idea to change the top layer of your bed every five years. This way you avoid mites. If the bedside of your bed is a mattress, it can be quite expensive; therefore a bed mattress can be a good investment. On some mattress mattresses you can wash the cover to kill all mites. If this is not possible, it may be cheaper to change the mattress every five years than to change a mattress or a full bed.
Are There Any Disadvantages?
Not really. If you are worried that you will not find enough long sheets to cover both mattresses, you do not have to worry. There is a sufficiently long sheet to cover both mattresses.
Which Bed Mattress Should You Choose?
Which bed mattress you should choose is very individual. Do you prefer a soft or hard surface? Do you want it cool or hot when you sleep? Which fits with your bed? Think about these issues and take your time when you test the different mattresses. If you have back problems, please read our tips at Black Friday mattress sale 2018 on finding the saving mattress.
The primary thing to think about is the body type you have, not the body weight, as many think. The rule of thumb is that a straight body can have a tougher bed than a sluggish / curvy body. You should not lie on the bed but in it. So it is important that the bed is so soft that it conforms to your body. Shoulder and hips should sink into the bed so that the spine is straight when lying on the side. Otherwise, your shoulders and hips push together, it starts to work and you have to turn around. This, of course, interferes with your sleep. If you have to find a more comfortable position during deep sleep - which lasts for about 90 minutes - the body's recovery will deteriorate and you will not feel rested. The ideal is to have a bed that is shaped so perfectly after the body that you barely need to move when you sleep.
