Crafts from the Cwtch: Hilda: Vintage-inspired Headwrap. The headwrap is designed to be a bit stretchy - it should be worn snug without being tight. My head measures 56cm (22") and this would fit larger or smaller heads as it is tied. Before starting you should measure your head where you'll wear it - there is flexibility but if your head is significantly larger or smaller than mine, you will need to add or remove rows from the central moss stitch section to ensure a good fit.

My gauge = 6 sts and 5.5 rows per inch in stocking stitch. If you are making this for a child, sections A and C are the same, but there are less stitches and repeats on the central band (section B). Ingredients: - Approx 30g of Aran, or a bit less of worsted or DK yarn. . - 5mm needles (US size 8) - tape measure - tapestry needle Skills: - Casting on and binding off - Increasing by knitting and/or purling into the front & back of a stitch - Stocking Stitch - Moss stitch - Decreasing using SSK and k2tog - A little bit of sewing Method: SECTION A (half of bow)

Betsy Headwrap ~ A Free Knitting Pattern. This dandy headwrap reminds me of something from the 1950's, whether you're going ice skating or tying up your hair to get some housework done, it'll keep your ears toasty and the hair out of your face. I tried, but it didn't help me get any housework done. Size: one size - average adult woman For a custom fit, measure the wearer from earlobe to earlobe, running the tape measure over the crown of the head. The next round forms the ridge which outlines the top of the crown and gives structure to the upper part of the hat. K 1 round. Winter 2006 - editor. The project is worked using short rows. To work short rows, work to the point indicated in the pattern, then turn your work around and begin working back in the other direction. Holes will form in your work at the turning points of the short rows; don't worry! This is to be expected. One of these holes will be used as a buttonhole when the project is completed. The pattern uses 2 stitch markers to help you keep track of your short rows. 2x2 Rib (Worked back and forth over a multiple of 4 sts): Row 1: [K2, p2] to end. Welcome To The Prayer Shawl Ministry www.shawlministry.com. Knitted_Patterns. Sister Scarves. [ Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick] Every year I knit myself and my sister matching scarves. It is funny because she and I are complete opposites. She is a super girly girl with blond curly hair and I am a no nonsense practical gal with brown hair and eyes.

People don't believe us that we are sisters. We have six years between us but our mother insisted that we dress the same. When I learned how to knit I made us scarves they were the same style and yarn but in different colors that suited each of us. My sister's scarf was pink sparkles and mine was black variegated. The pattern is actually a super simple 1 line simple lace pattern called Garter Stitch Lace.
