I’ve finished my ribbed lace bolero, with pattern as promised ;) I decided not to give the sleeves ribbing, like most of you suggested.

Ribbed Lace Bolero

I liked how it was sort of dainty, even with worsted weight yarn, and I thought ribbing on the sleeves would be too heavy for it. The shape of this is based on the Circular Shrug on Craftster. It’s a simple but ingenious design. There is no complicated shaping (it’s really just a big rectangle) and it’s easily customized. Dream shrug : It's a Stitch Up

Photo: Alex A lacework shrug in mohair with elbow-length sleeves and deep ribbing. I created the Dream shrug after finding some brightly-coloured vintage 80s mohair. I used a ripple lace pattern to show-off the beautiful colour changes. The yarn I used (Argyll Mohair) is sadly long discontinued, I have suggested modern alternatives. The shrug is knitted sideways, in one piece, in the flat on straight needles, then the sleeves are seamed. The shrug has no discernible top or bottom, the lace pattern has a lot of stretch and it will fit either way up. Size information Instructions are given for the smallest size, other sizes are shown in brackets. Spring! Shrug. So, it's spring, and I got some yarn in a beautiful, springtimey color but ...

Bandana Cowl

From here I can report that, for men and women alike, this season's prevailing trend in neckwear is the bandana. Jauntily tied around the neck, it tops off everything from Sunday's T-shirt and jeans to Friday's night-on-the-town dress! The bandana is a sassy, casual touch that suggests that the wearer possesses an innate stylishness. It's the perfect accessory for those cool mornings when you've hit snooze a few too many times and need to turn "thrown-together-in-a-rush" into "casually glamourous"! My Bandana Cowl is inspired by my desire to make "effortlessly chic" even more effortless. I chose to make my Cowl out of Swan's Island Bulky, a brand new yarn made from a beautiful blend of undyed merino and alpaca that feels wonderfully soft against the skin.
