Vinyl Toys. Tamiya P-51D Mustang. Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang Kit #61040 MSRP $26.00 USD Images and text Copyright © 2004 by Matt Swan Developmental History The design was for a low drag airframe and laminar flow wings, which allowed for some truly staggering, at the time, top end speed. The aircraft experienced several modifications in armament and cockpit design but when involved in aerial combat a P-51 in almost all circumstances had one option his enemy did not - he could leave. The P51 is the most famous of the American "big three" from WWII: those being the P47, P38, and P51. It all started in 1939, when the British needed more fighter aircraft. The Kit Surprisingly, there is not that much involved in this kit, parts wise. The main sprues of parts are all classic Tamiya engineering. Decals and Instructions Something slightly different is happening with Tamiya decals these days.
Conclusions This Tamiya kit is probably one of the easiest Mustang kits to put together on the market today. Construction 3/3/04.

There is a trend underfoot: designer toys or urban vinyl are becoming mainstream. These aren’t mass produced toys that you’d find in bigbox toy stores, in fact to call them “toys” is a bit misleading: these are pop art sculptures that happen to use toys as canvas. Chances are you’ve seen urban vinyl toys. They are collectible figures and toys, made from vinyl or plastic, designed by both budding artists and famous ones alike.
The whole thing got started in the late 1990s when Hong Kong artist Michael Lau created the first urban vinyl figure from an underground comic, which looked like a custom-made GI Joe action figure. After friends raved about the unique toy, one thing led to another and a genre was born. Now, you can find artworks by artists like Takashi Murakami, Gary Baseman, Tim Biskup, Coop, KAWS and Pete Fowler as urban vinyl. This whole trend is captured by Ivan Vartanian in his new book Full Vinyl: The Subversive Art of Designer Toys. From Junko Mizuno and KAWS: Hot Toys Classic Predator. When Hot Toys was doing the Predator's movie series, they produced Dutch, Billy and Predator. I picked up Dutch but while considering whether to get Predator, I missed out the chance to get it.The only way was to get it at absolutely ridiculously high prices in the secondary market.Luckily in the movie "Predators", the classic Predator made its appearance and Hot Toys produced it together with the other characters in that movie.
As I don't have the Hot Toys original Predator as reference, I can't tell how different both Predators were. I can only assume that they are true to the movie they appeared in.For me, this figure will represent the Predator from the first movie. For all those familar with this line's packaging, it has the slip over sleeve with the red acetate window in which you can see the picture from the inner box.The design of the inner box is also very nice.
The figure and its accessories are all placed nicely in their plastic trays. Open! Close! Undamaged Damaged...I see you! Toy Viking: Amazing Van Models from Dirty Donny. I have received some questions via email and would like to share here. -There is no limit to how many designs you want to submit. You can 1 or 100...hahaha! -You can select any heads you like to design, or you can have your design on all heads, it is all up to you depending on which design is more suitable for which head. -There is no specified theme for the design, you can have free play for the design, but I hope you can make use of the rotating head feature of trexi which will be our main consideration for selecting the design. -If your design are selected, there will be a compensation and it will be announced to you after you have been selected.
-Kindly note that this is just a call for design submission and not a contest. -Pls submit your design in Adobe Illustrator (any version will be fine) with a copy of Jpeg. -When you submit your design, pls include your Name, Male/Female and Country.
