Folds in cloth scans from "The Famous Artists Course" I've been meaning to scan and post this forever... Every good drawing book has a section on drawing folds. They're all pretty much the same. That said, the best one I've ever seen is from the "Famous Artists Course". Here is the first of several parts. Click to see these really big. There are a few types of folds that are generally accepted among every artist, and the FAC lays them out just like every other drawing book, but for some reason the FAC version really seemed to be better explained than any other version I've seen. There are a lot of very clear visuals to explain everything. This is the first section, which covers the basics, and probably won't strike too many people as all that extraordinary.
I put folds in the same category as anatomy. Really, folds are pretty simple to learn and master, and the simplest suggestion of fabric and clothes is always the best, unless it's an important story point or something. The step sequence of the rotatory gallop is shown at the right. The rotatory gallop (double suspension gallop; jumping gallop) is a four-beat, double suspension gait. It is exhibited by carnivores and by rodents, swine, and small ungulates. The pattern of limb impact rotates, e.g., right hind, left hind, extended suspension, left fore, right fore, and collected suspension (as illustrated above).
This rotatory pattern of limb impact and the double suspension per stride characterizes the rotatory gallop, in contrast to the transverse gallop. Suspension periods follow lifting of the second-impacting hind limb and lifting of the second-impacting forelimb. As usual, the leading forelimb is the one that is lifted just before suspension (it is the right forelimb in the above illustration).
The rotatory gallop is the fastest but also the most fatiguing of all gaits. Fantastic animals. Fucking Art, How Does It Work? In this step-by-step lesson we are going to create a simple "2 Point Perspective" view drawing of our test subject example, working from both plan (overhead) and elevation view (side view or profile) reference Fig 1. This type of illustration angle is referred to as a "3/4 Perspective" or an "Angular Perspective" view. The green dots in all of the following perspective grid diagrams identify the lines to be drawn as shown in each visual example. This type of perspective grid is best done using vector drawing software such as Adobe Illustrator, where you can easily drag a single anchor-point on each line drawn, rotating it from the other fixed anchor-point to create a "projection line" from the fixed point. The first line to draw will be the horizontal Picture Plane line shown in Fig. 2.

You will learn how to use the Rectangular Grid Tool with the "SSR technique", and in less than two minutes you'll be ready to draw your isometric designs. Step 1 Open a new document. The dimensions will depend on what you will create on the grid we'll make, and also the color mode.
We'll start now by selecting the Rectangular Grid Tool. Step 2 Set the parameters of Rectangle Grid Tool. Step 3 Now, you have two alternatives. What we are going to do next is called "the SSR method". Step 4 - Scale Select the grid and go to Object > Transform > Scale, check the Non-Uniform and set the Vertical at 86,602%. Edit:The above graphic says "86.062", but the correct setting is 86.602. Step 5 - Shear Keep the grid selected from now on. Step 6 - Rotate Finally we have to rotate the grid. Step 7 Now the lines are set, all you need to do is to make Guides out of them. Conclusion. Perspective grids for cityscapes. TO23 Small Corner Shops. Diagrams. Adjusting your photographs to get the color 'just right' can be a chore. Think about this: The Old Masters of painting spent years of their lives learning about color. Why let all their effort go to waste on the walls of some museum when it could be used to give you a hand with color correction? When Photoshop entered the CS series it included a new tool called 'Match Color.' This tools was made so that you could match a series of photos to one another.
But there is another thing you can do with 'Match Color' that is much cooler: You can match the colors in your photos to those in famous paintings. I keep a directory of about 30 of my favorite paintings and anytime I need to do color correction, I just scan through them to find the one that gives the photo I'm working on the best look. This technique can be used in other ways. Stumble It!
