Culture libre - Une définition. La Culture libre vise la libre distribution des connaissances et leur accroissement grâce à l'élaboration, la modification ou l'enrichissement d'oeuvres déjà existantes sur la base du partage et de la collaboration sans que celles-ci soient freinées par les régles liées à la protection juridique de la propriété intellectuelle.
Cette notion, dans le contexte de la mondialisation, a comme corollaire que tous les citoyens devraient avoir un accès égal à la connaissance et à l'information. Last Friday I wrote a short piece on for the Datablog giving some background and context for a big open data big policy package that was announced yesterday morning by Vice President Neelie Kroes.
But what does the package contain? And what might the new measures mean for the future of open data in Europe? The announcement contained some very strong language in support of open data.
