To be more specific, we’re going to convert an audio signal to a MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) one. Such a thing is easily done with Max for Live or specific plugins, but what if you don’t have either? Thankfully it’s possible to achieve our goal with free software. Requirements Only 2 pieces of software are needed to get this to work, both free. MIDI Yoke (Windows users only) The purpose of this thing is to create virtual MIDI inputs and outputs that can be added to Ableton Live. Inputs and outputs with the same number are connected within MIDI Yoke, meaning a MIDI message sent from Ableton Live to “Out To MIDI Yoke: 1″ will immediately come back through “In From MIDI Yoke: 1″.
