It was seven years ago when Abby Mallon first heard the three words that would change her life forever. Words that carry with them a host of baggage: fear, anxiety, worry, and pain.

Words that bring a heaviness, a weight. Words that threaten to become who we are. You have cancer. After a whirlwind year of surgery and chemotherapy there seemed to be light at the end of the tunnel. Tests results were good. She’d beaten it. In 2014 Abby, her husband, and their two kids packed up their life in Virginia and moved to Keller. A few months into living life in Texas, a coworker mentioned to Abby that she attended Milestone. In March of 2016, Abby went in for a CT scan after several months of back pain. It’s back. Those two words often hold more fear than the original three. We all have a limited amount of time on this earth, but for Abby this was real. “When I got sick, I knew immediately Milestone was where I needed to go. “Cancer has a way of taking over your life. No evidence of disease.

An Amazing Change At Timber Creek High School | Milestone Life. We all have influence, but how we choose to use it makes all the difference. Recently, a few of the Timber Creek High School varsity football players chose to use their influence to positively affect their school…and it’s had some incredible results.

Dylan, Ethan, and Adrian first attended Elevate, Milestone’s student ministry, this January after being invited by an Elevate leader. Each had a genuine encounter with Jesus and left deeply impacted by what they had experienced. That night they went to dinner and had a conversation that would be the beginning of a powerful movement at Timber Creek. All three were ready to go all-in and impact their school for Jesus. The next Wednesday night the guys brought several of their teammates to Elevate.

By early February, a Monday night Bible study had started. 20 young athletes showed up on the first night and the group continues to grow. “That night we decided that we wanted to bring change at our school and with our friends. The Cure For Loneliness | Milestone Life. Spiritual family has been a core value here at Milestone from the start. We see from Scripture that God always builds through family, both natural and spiritual. The truth is, life isn’t easy. We will all encounter hardships, trials and pain. Yet the Bible tells us we aren’t meant to carry our burdens on our own.

After her husband passed away three years ago, Linda Wagstaff found herself lonely and alone. “I quit going to church when he died and began living a life of isolation. The Bible is clear—none of us are meant to be isolated. In need of connection, Linda and her daughter knew they needed to find a church home. In Psalm 68:6 we see that “God sets the lonely in families.” “When we came to Milestone we knew we had found a home. We believe the church should be a safe place where people can be honest, share their challenges, celebrate their victories, wrestle with truth and look for help in a time of need.

This doesn’t happen by just sitting in rows during a weekend service. The Top 5 Most-Read Stories of 2016 | Milestone Life. We love sharing stories of life change on Milestone Life. An 18-year-old struggling with depression and anxiety is at the end of her rope, but God hasn’t given up on her. 2.The First Student We Ever Reached 1. Every parent’s nightmare is to lose a child. Are You Adopted? | Milestone Life. Have you ever felt a little out of place? Maybe you you received an invitation to an event, but didn’t quite feel like you were wanted there? It’s that familiar feeling in the pit of your stomach that seems to say “you don’t belong here”. So why does it bother us so much? Deep down, we all want to feel like we belong.

We want a place at the table. The truth is, it’s in our design. Paul speaks to this longing for family in Galatians 4:4-5:“ But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” This is the message of Christmas. God sent His perfect Son from Heaven to Earth so He could bring home all His sons and daughters for all eternity. He emptied Heaven to bring us home. He adopts us into His family—and with that all the privileges that go with it. And get this… The Father loves us with the same love He loves His Son Jesus. –Pastor Jeff Little.

I’m not trying to bring back the good ol’ days, I’m not against change or progress. I actually enjoy both of those things a great deal. I realize there are lots of things we used to value that aren’t worth much any more.Times have changed. They’ve been replaced. I get it.I’m not trying to get everyone else to adapt to my personal preferences and I’m not trying to scold young people to be more like previous generations. When I think “old school,” here’s what I mean:I believe there are timeless truths, that have impacted the lives of many, that are often confused with culture, manners and etiquette that are actually far more important. They are principles from God’s Word that never go out of style. The way we apply them and the methods we use to communicate them may change, but the message remains powerful in every era and generation. 1. 2. 3.

Pastor Jeff Little | church, leadership, discipleship. Missions: It’s Not What You Think | Milestone Life. The mission is worth it.People matter to God.Generosity transforms. These are things we say a lot at Milestone, but it’s during events like Missions Weekend that we see how they really shape the culture of our church. It’s amazing to see the big picture of what so many people are doing to impact our community and our world. We put together this video to share what has happened in the last year. What we love about this video is that it shows how a group of ordinary people can come together to make an impact. No matter who you are, you can make a difference.

Dana, who helps assemble the Welcome Baskets for new families, alongside her son with special needs, said it so well–“All you need is a servant’s heart.” Maybe you’ve pictured missions as a move to Africa or a dramatic change of lifestyle. Have you ever wondered...what’s the point of church services? Or maybe, why do we have services EVERY week? Have you ever wondered what goes into planning our weekend services here at Milestone? We believe your time is valuable and it’s why we intentionally spend so much of our week praying, hearing from God and creating services where people can have a genuine, authentic encounter with Jesus. We gather as the church to get equipped to live out our faith on a daily basis. This past weekend Pastor Jeff showed us a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into planning the weekend and imparted to us a powerful teaching on these essential components of our services: Prayer Everyone has needs, things you’re praying about right now. The Bible says we are in a spiritual battle. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
