The Knit Cafe Calendar!

Let’s make some pompoms, they’re not just for hats anymore. Make them into garlands or wreaths, decorate a bag or scarf, make jewelry or hair decorations, or some fluffy creatures. Come help us celebrate the opening of our new location, we will be showing y’all how to make pompoms. Bring your Mom - it’s Mother’s Day. This is a FREE workshop! Materials: yarn of any type. Sunday May 11, 12:30-2:30pm Knitting 101 A class for the knitting novice! Materials: yarn and needles to match for a scarf, and 6mm double pointed needles, and one skein of aran weight yarn for a hat, available at the Knit Cafe 4 session course, $100, materials not included.

One great place to start is at the websites of yarn companies. Knitting magazines, whether print or electronic, also keep free patterns at their websites. Thinking less commercially, keep in mind that wherever knitters gather, patterns will be shared. When searching community sites for knitting patterns, keep in mind that this takes a little more detective work than searching through pattern archives. Some of the best places to find patterns are direct from the designers on their blogs. Because most knit blogs are not famous, they take a little work to scout out.
