Hariri Implicated in Arming NATO Insurgency in Syria. Former Lebanese P.M. and Multi Billionaire The captured Syrian Insurgent Hayel Hasan al Hammoud, who was arrested in relations to arms trade, murder of police and military personnel, and the shooting of peaceful protesters, to stir up violence against the Libyan Government, implicates former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri in financing and arming the NATO lead insurgency in Syria.

Hariri´s involvement follows a scandal earlier this year, where a secretly recorded video provided evidence that he fabricated a fake testimony which accused Syria for the assassination of his father, Rafiq Hariri. The involvement of the Saudi-Lebanese billionaire and former P.M. Saad Hariri, who lost his post to Hezbollah in January 12 – 2011, can hardly be surprising for Middle East experts. Saad Hariri accuses Hezollah and Syria for the assassination of his father, and former Lebanese P.M. Siddiq: No one doubts? Hariri: …That they did it. (The tape cut off abruptly) (pause) Hariri: Mmm. Earth's natural wealth: an audit 23 May 2007 NewScientist.com news service David Cohen "I get excited every time I see a street cleaner," says Hazel Prichard.

It's what they collect in their sacks that gets her juices flowing, because the grime and litter they sweep up off the streets is laced with traces of platinum, one of the world's rarest and most expensive metals. The catalytic converters that keep exhaust pollutants from cars, trucks and buses down to an acceptable level all use platinum, and over the years it is slowly but steadily lost through these vehicles' exhaust pipes. Prichard, a geologist at the University of Cardiff in the UK, reckons that tonnes of the stuff is being sprayed out onto the world's streets and highways every year, and she is hunting for places where it is concentrated enough to be worth recovering. This could prove lucrative, but Prichard is motivated by something far more significant than the chance of a quick buck. So what can be done? Natural Resources « Phil Ebersole's Blog. Languages of the World (Wide Web) Posted by Daniel Ford and Josh Batson The web is vast and infinite.

Its pages link together in a complex network, containing remarkable structures and patterns. Some of the clearest patterns relate to language. Most web pages link to other pages on the same web site, and the few off-site links they have are almost always to other pages in the same language. It's as if each language has its own web which is loosely linked to the webs of other languages. However, there are a small but significant number of off-site links between languages. To see the connections between languages, start by taking the several billion most important pages on the web in 2008, including all pages in smaller languages, and look at the off-site links between these pages. We can use our corpus to draw a very simple graph of the web, with a node for each language and an edge between two languages if more than one percent of the offsite links in the first language land on pages in the second.

Five Ws Questions

The European Organization for Nuclear Research. Bestselling books of 2011: the top 100 listed | News. What were the most popular books in the UK in 2011? Thanks to Nielsen Bookscan, we have the answer. Which is? By and large, books we've already read. Of the nearly 5,000 books detailed in the 2011 charts so far, 35% of them, or 1,695, were published before 2010. In an analysis published today, John Dugdale writes that the charts are dominated by movie tie-ins and older books with the number one slot held by One Day, followed by Christmas number one chef Jamie Oliver's Jamie's 30-Minute Meals .

Glance at 2011's chart, and you could be forgiven for wondering if 12 months have really passed. For this was a year when old books saw off new ones, and paperbacks sent hardbacks packing. Of the 4,838 books on the list, the vast majority are paperbacks - 1,176, or 24%. But look at it it again by value, and a different picture emerges. So, what types of books are they? But after that, you can see where the money is: £87.6m in crime and thrillers and £48.1m in children's fiction.

Data summary. Definitions | Astronomy 801: Planets, Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe. Ecological HousingProject. What is this? A project to build 6 to 12 flats that are as ecological as is technologically feasible today. Why? We want to move out of our house with a garden. It has become too big and it is too far from a city centre. The car is necessary to do almost anything, creating a lot of CO2. We want to do errands on foot and be close to shops and services, but we also want to diminish drastically our ecological footprint.

How? By finding a number of like-minded persons. Why not just commission it? Because building promotors still are not delivering and using the necessary technologies and designs. Why should you join the group? Because the project will provide you with a flat that is comfortable to live in, but that has a minimal impact on the environment. What do you need to do? This is not a real-estate investment project. How do you join the project? Drop me an e-mail expressing your interest, we can then talk: robert at robertcailliau dot eu.
