Direct Photographic Wednesday, 30th July 2014 from 10:00 to 17:00 London, United Kingdom The Photographic Assistants Workshop is a one day intensive lighting workshop aimed at those intending to enter the industry at assistant level. The course is also suitable for production-based personnel wishing to have an overview of lighting and camera equipment.
The workshop starts at 10am and runs until 5pm. It is hosted at our central London location, within our professional photographic hire studio. The workshop provides an overview of the different types of equipment that you would expect to find on a photographic shoot and gives you the opportunity to learn how to handle this professional lighting equipment in a non-pressure environment. The afternoon is spent putting your skills into practice, looking at set demonstrations and gaining some hands on experience using the equipment. An initial 4 week unit brings everyone up to speed with a revision and update on camera skills, basic lighting (including hand held flash) and composition together with an introduction to digital post production and darkroom work. After that unit, the course leads into studio and location work together with introducing contextual studies and, during November, there is a trip to Paris Photo (the biggest event in the photo calender), this is an optional, but worthwhile.
