I don't know why it's taken me so long to write it. You know how sometimes something can be so precious and sacred that it seems hard to describe it in words? That is kind of how I've felt about sharing this. Still, it's so worth sharing and I hope I'll do it justice here. This year I decided to try something new in the classroom. All the poems I am using I found on the website CanTeach. When introducing the poem to the children, I first presented it orally. The second week, I added the print to our poetry practice. Below you can see two photos showing our pocket chart for the September poem, "September. " I wish you could see the "far away" version of this photo with one four-year-old pointing and reading while three little friends gathered 'round to watch and read with her. During the third week, I introduced the poetry basket.

Create Authentic Text Based Lessons. I think we all know how potentially motivating authentic materials can be for our students, especially if those materials deal with something current and of direct relevance to our students' interests. The web is abundantly rich in these kinds of materials, but creating lessons based around authentic online materials can be time consuming and complex. There are issues of copyright to deal with, as well as the fact that once we have created our lessons, the text we build them on may disappear.
If this is a problem you regularly face, then Lingle could be the answer to your prayers. Lingle takes the process of finding text and creating lessons and exercises and turns it into a quick and simple 'click through' process. Best. 33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity. Heuristics are rules intended to help you solve problems. When a problem is large or complex, and the optimal solution is unclear, applying a heuristic allows you to begin making progress towards a solution even though you can’t visualize the entire path from your starting point. Suppose your goal is to climb to the peak of a mountain, but there’s no trail to follow. An example of a heuristic would be: Head directly towards the peak until you reach an obstacle you can’t cross.
Whenever you reach such an obstacle, follow it around to the right until you’re able to head towards the peak once again. This isn’t the most intelligent or comprehensive heuristic, but in many cases it will work just fine, and you’ll eventually reach the peak. Heuristics don’t guarantee you’ll find the optimal solution, nor do they generally guarantee a solution at all. But they do a good enough job of solving certain types of problems to be useful. Hi Boys and Girls! I’m back with the second video episode – and I hope you enjoyed the first one! I’m still getting a hang of the video recording equipment in my home studio – so you may spot some small glitches here and there. But I think the video quality is decent enough for you to understand what I’m saying, what you think? However, it just takes a few minutes to grasp the connection between those two. Basically, your English speech won’t be fluent for as long as you prepare the speech in your head using your native language. It’s more like the first thought corresponding to what you want to say is in your language. Consciously or not, the end result is the same – slow and unnatural spoken English.
So how to stop this vicious circle? In my video I’m explaining simple ways of making collocation learning your habit.
