Homepage. Independent Games. Bitch (verb) is a very short (rules on one sheet of paper) pick-up-and-play RPG for up to eight players. In this, it is quite original: an interesting roleplaying set-up, intended for a single, quick session of play, with minimal rules. It comes out of the indie RPG scene, but reminds me strongly of "acting games," the improv scenarios used by actors to hone their skills. Released at a convention by Danielle Lewon, it sold out its thirty copy print run, but Lewon seems willing to produce more on request. In addition to the rules themselves, it comes with a button -- mine says "Damn What a Bitch" -- which goes to the game's "winner.

Solar System is not originally my own design, but that of one Clinton R. Nixon, a fine game designer from North Carolina. The Shadow of Yesterday: Main Rulebook. Once upon a time, there was a world named Near. It was Near, because it was all its people knew. It was composed of one Empire, taking the best of every civilization it contained and melding it into a cornucopia called Maldor.

Whether jungle dweller, plains rider, grubby goblin, wolf-chaser in the snow, or wandering elf, all belonged to Maldor. Three centuries ago, the Maldor Empire stretched from ocean to mountain, gleaming cities sprouting like flowers in its wake. Their most powerful and successful emperor-general, Absolon, called all of his advisors and most powerful of magicians to him for one singular task to cement the Empire as the greatest the world had ever known: the construction of a language for his varied subjects.

The advisors and magicians spent months using their arcane crafts to map the mind of man and examining the nuances of every language spoke within the Empire. Let Them Eat War. A role-playing game of political and social horror In days long gone by, Maldor was an empire, stretching from ocean to mountain, uniting the people of the world under one rule.

Let Them Eat War

Empowered by a common language and efficient trade, the cornucopia of cultures melded into an economic powerhouse where few where hungry and most were happy. This empire fell, not to opposing armies, but doom from the heavens. A fiery dot appeared in the sky, bright enough to be seen in mid-day. Yesterday's Heresies. Humanity as a star-faring race is tens of thousands of years old but societies have risen and fallen so many times that no one remembers where we come from. Worlds are grouped into small clusters of no more than a dozen or so systems, connected by slipstreams — artifacts of the universe or a forgotten technology — that connect systems. Slipstreams are unrelated to distance: a given cluster might be spread over galaxies or be within a single cubic light year. The Phoenix Command Conspiracy. Simplifying Phoenix Command. Simplifying Phoenix Command

Mm: Introduction. Wargamers have different preferences when it comes to the scale and scope of their game. Some prefer to play out whole wars on a large scale, with division or corps sized units. Others favor company or platoon size battles or skirmishes where figures or markers represent squads. Then there are the wargamers who wish to play out skirmishes on a scale of one to one, i.e. with one marker representing one man. I have always felt I belong to this last group, the very tactical players. It is on this most detailed level - where you can almost smell the sweat, the napalm, the tension, the fear - that I feel war should be simulated. This, then, is 7.62mm, a site dedicated to tactical military gaming.

This site is by no means meant to replace or outdo the excellent Phoenix Command sites already in existence (the Leading Edge Games Home Page, the Unofficial Phoenix Command Support page or many other fine sites).
